The Winner in this category is:  East Staffordshire Primary Care Network

East Staffordshire PCN appointed a Research Manager to enable efficient regional level participant identification for research,  and to set up research structures and frameworks within the PCN.   The Research Manager works closely with the CRN to lead and manage the successful delivery of research studies across the entire Primary Care Network – comprising 18 GP practices, which serves a total population of more than 150,000. Communication, teamwork, use of technologies, enthusiasm, engagement, and collaboration are the key words to describe how the PCN has got to where it is.

This was the eighth year of the Awards, and our first year to be nominated, I am very proud to part of a wonderful team who work collaboratively across the locality bringing Research into Primary Care and making a difference for our diverse locality population.

Rachael Brown – Research Manager

Meet your research manager

Rachael has worked for the NHS for the past 22 years and over the last 10 years as Practice Manager for a local GP Practice.  Rachael was employed by the Primary Care Network in September 2022 following a successful Improvement and Innovation bid to interact with commercial and non-commercial organisations, coordinating and delivering research at scale across East Staffordshire and the wider locality.  Rachael’s role will ensure East Staffordshire and the wider locality remain attractive to study sponsors, maintain our presence in the world of research and ensure our patient’s experience is greater due to research studies available.
